Finnish Retail Portfolio

Finnish Retail

The Finnish Retail Portfolio was acquired by Fund I in June 2004 and sold in September 2007.

The portfolio comprised eight predominantly retail properties in Finland totalling 137,000 sqm, primarily in the Helsinki area. The largest asset in the portfolio was the prominent Iso Omena shopping centre in the Espoo district of Helsinki. The transaction was one of the largest ever completed in Finland by an international purchaser.

During our ownership, Doughty Hanson created value by actively managing the tenants, reconfiguring units and securing additional building rights. The portfolio was repositioned for an asset by asset sales programme to local and international investors.
